Make a splash this summer with the ultimate pool party! Inviting friends and family over for a dip in your new pool is a great way to kick of the summer season and give a warm welcome to your newly finished pool. Here are a few simple tips to make sure everything runs smoothly.
The perfect playlist can make your party memorable. Try adding a wide variety of songs that most everyone can relate to. You can even mix the songs to compliment the time of day. For example, if it’s a morning party, you might want bright lively music to get the water sports started. If it’s an evening party, you may want more mellow ambient music to allow your guests to chat. Of course, if it’s a kid’s party, better let them choose the tunes!
In addition to making the perfect playlist, having quality speakers that can outlast the biggest splash is a must. Also, make sure your speakers are loud enough to cover your entertainment area.
Pass on Glass
Most public pools have a hard no glass allowed policy and for a good reason. The last thing you want is broken glass near a pool. If you’re providing food and drinks for your guests make sure to stock up on paper or plastic plates, cups, utensils and serving containers. This makes cleanup easy while keeping everyone safe.
Nothing ruins the day like getting sunburnt. You don’t want your guests having to recover from a bad sunburn days after the party is over just because they forgot to bring some protection. Make sure to have extra sunscreen on hand or try passing out mini sunscreen bottles as a party favor.
Need we say more? The Swan floaty has been dominating Instagram and Pinterest so if you don’t have them at your party, well I don’t know if we can really consider it a party.
Towels are a detail often forgotten by visitors, so if you want to make sure you don’t have water dragged through your home or soaked into your furniture, it’s a good idea to provide a few extras. Lying on a towel can also provide additional room for lounging if seating is limited.
